Habitat for Humanity of Council Bluffs

Habitat for Humanity of Council Bluffs accepts new and used furniture, building supplies, tools, flooring, cabinets, appliances, fixtures and many more items! They use these items to stock their ReStore. All profits from the ReStore go back into the Habitat for Humanity of Council Bluffs Home Ownership Program. The Set Me Free Project

Buy candy, index cards, Aim toothpaste and office supplies by shopping The Set Me Free Project’s wish list at SHARE Omaha, linked here. All of these goods are used in activities in the schools. Donations for use in both Omaha and Council Bluffs can be dropped off at 11620 M Circle, Omaha, NE 68137 from 9am-4:30pm Monday – Friday.

Visiting Nurse Association

Assist VNA in the Plastics 4 Pink campaign. VNA is collecting gift cards for women undergoing breast cancer treatment who are a part of the Breast Cancer Patient Assistance Program. Drop off or mail gift cards, that will be distributed in both NE and Iowa, to VNA,12565 West Center Rd. Suite 100, Omaha, Nebraska 68144.  

Heartland Bike Share

Buy helmets for Heartland Bike Share. Heartland B-Cycle is piloting a Pedal to Health program with federally qualified health centers where patients can receive a free B-cycle membership, bike safety training course and a helmet. Items purchased will ship directly to Heartland B-Cycle.

Connections Area Agency on Aging

Deliver hot meals through the Meals on Whells program to home bound people in the community.

American Foundation For Suicide Prevention Nebraska

Become a vital part of a growing grassroots movement of people who are speaking out for suicide prevention and mental health. 

Charles E. Lakin Human Services Campus

Buy tampons by shopping Charles E. Lakin Human Services Campus’s wish list at SHARE Omaha, linked here. Bras and sealed packages of tampons will distribute to the homeless girls and women in the community. Items purchased will ship directly to Charles E. Lakin Human Services Campus.

Gently used bras will be accepted for distribution at 1415 Avenue J, Council Bluffs, Monday thru Friday 9:00-5:00.

Visiting Nurse Association

Provide compassionate care to patients facing terminal illness. Volunteers offer companionship as well as caregiver relief, or may assist in bereavement or clerical duties. Training is provided.

 

Wild Hearts n Horses

A gently used tractor and a lowboy trailer would be greatly appreciated.  This donation can be delivered to 64501 232nd Street, Glenwood Iowa 51534.

New Visions Homeless Services

New Visions Homeless Services is in need of gently used cold weather gear for men, women and children of all ages and sizes.  Donations are accepted at New Visions Homeless Services, 1435 N. 15th St. Council Bluffs, IA 51501 at all hours, and at New Visions Omaha Veterans Campus at 1425 N. 18th St. Omaha, NE 68102, M-F 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

 

MICAH House

Buy hairbrushes, pillows, washcloths, nail clippers and other items by shopping MICAH House’s wish list at SHARE Omaha, linked here.  These items will be used to support families and individuals experiencing the crisis of homelessness. Items purchased will ship directly to MICAH House.

 

Gently used linens, blankets, and clothes can be dropped off at 1415 Avenue J, Council Bluffs, IA , Monday – Friday, 9AM-6PM.
